This option is highly recommended for travelers who are already in Rwanda, as it necessitates an early morning departure to reach the park headquarters in time for the Gorilla tracking experience, which promises to be unforgettable.
Itinerary
4.30 AM : Embark on a Journey to Volcanoes National Park
Our Safari Guide will pick you up early in the morning from your hotel or the airport in Rwanda, around 4:00am. We will then travel by road for two and a half hours to reach Volcanoes National Park.
7:30AM : Have Briefing and Encounter Mountain Gorillas
After arriving in Kinigi, we will have breakfast and then proceed to the park headquarters where we will receive a briefing from the Park warden at around 7:30am. This will prepare us for our journey into the jungle for the Mountain Gorilla tracking experience. You will be randomly allocated a Gorilla Group and the trek can last between 1-8 hours depending on the Gorillas’ movement. Once we encounter the Mountain Gorillas, you will have the opportunity to observe them feeding, crushing through the jungle and even playing. Afterward, we will return to the park headquarters where our driver will take you back to Kigali City or to the airport for your flight back home.
