Canopy Walk Trail Hike

Overview

In the south-western side of Rwanda lies one of the most outstanding canopy walks in the world-the 160m long and 70m high suspension bridge, accessible as part of a guided tour along the Igishigishigi trail in Rwanda’s Nyungwe National Park. This fun and less challenging hike rewards visitors with incredible views over the rainforest canopy.

Itinerary

Early morning 5:00am, meet your driver guide and thereafter transfer to Nyungwe National Park, in the South Western part of Rwanda. The four to five hour drive from Kigali to Nyungwe National Park rewards you with breath-taking nature and wildlife experiences. Upon arrival at Uwinka Park Reception, registration and briefing before heading out for the 2-hour exhilarating Canopy walk. The Canopy Walkway in Nyungwe National Park is a 70m high suspension bridge above the rainforest floor.
Visitors get up close with nature and are rewarded with spectacular views; including evergreen mountains and Lake Kivu’s glimmering waters in the distance, amazing birdlife and butterflies. When the hike is finished, take a delicious lunch before travelling back to Kigali. Drop-off at your residence hotel.
